Pavilion la Promenade

Pavilion, La Promenade, is an outdoor structure for people to gather and connect. The inspiration for this project comes from the movie "Theeb." The main challenge was to design an outdoor pavilion base on design elements collected from the film.
While watching the movie, I focused on capturing all cinematographic aspects of the film: the setting, colors, themes, lightings, shapes, forms, and rhythm. Then I translated them into a series of data to guide my design approach.
The movie features many natural elements; physical markers like mountains, deserts, stones, and emotions, like joy, happiness, sadness, and worry. These formulated the basis for the wavy-looking metallic structure. People who walk through the pavilion will experience the same emotions as if they are watching the movie.
